Rich Green
I currently attend the greatest university in all of the Midwest, Illinois State, where I major in Radio and minor in history. Yeah I know the two really have nothing to do with one another but it makes me look smart and I really like Pawn Stars. I started my college career with hopes of one day becoming the next big Sports Illustrated journalist but quickly found out I like talking more than writing. I ended up choosing Radio because I have two passions in life: Music and Sports. Radio seemed like the best way to bring those two aspects together. Look at me mommy...I am living the dream. I have been a bar and club DJ for a good part of 8 years, and a darn fine mixologist for about 4. (that's fancy for bartender)
Hometown: LaSalle IL (drive an hour north on 39 and you will be there)
Favorite Music: This is an unfair question to ask a DJ just because there are so many: 311, Common, Kanye West, Huey Lewis & the News, Phil Collins, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, Rx Bandits, Apples in Stereo, Ben Folds, Paramore (everyone needs a guilty pleasure)basically everything but country but I am getting better at tolerating it.
Best Concert: It's a 3-way tie... No Doubt & Paramore at Summerfest '09, Rx Bandits & As Tall As Lions, and The Flamings Lips, Phoenix & Pete Yorn.
TV: Lost, 30 Rock, The Office, Community, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Pawn Stars, Arrested Development, The O.C., The League, and Sons of Anarchy
Movies: I could named 300 million but here are the big ones: Star Wars, Lord of the Ringsthe Departed, Stripes, Rocky I-IV (5 never happened) and anything John Hughes (Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, etc..)
Favorite Sports Teams: Cubs, Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks and Florida Gators (weird I know, but that's my dad's fault) oh and of course Illinois State University Redbirds!!
Interests: I really don't like sitting still for very long so I am always looking for some kind of adventure even if it's a random trip to Chicago. I also live for slow-pitch softball. My season runs from May until November or December and I have been known to play in 3 leagues at once. I have at least 2 dozen cut-off jersey t-shirts with the number 24 on the back to prove it.
